Holy Cross CYO
2007-2008
Dear Parents and
CYO Members,
We hope you and
your family have had a great summer. Our staff is very excited about
continuing the Holy Cross CYO instructional, social and service
program in 2007-2008.
Young people in
their teens face many challenges within themselves and in todays
world. Among these personal challenges are the search for identity,
how they will form meaningful relationships and what lifestyle
choices are to be made. Some of these are easy decisions, while
others are much more difficult. It is often hard for God to be
squeezed into all the choices, all the relationships, all the
questions, all the ups and downs of teen life. Most young people
desire a relationship with God, but struggle with how to get started
and keep it going.
The Holy Cross CYO
program is coming into our 17th year of existence. Each year our
number of members tops 100! The purpose of CYO is to help teens to
work through some of the questions, to find their place in our faith
community and in the world community, and to be nourished through
service by a God who loves them.
We have some new
and exciting events planned for this year, including service events,
adventure trips and great recreational get-togethers. The Parish
Picnic and CYO Mum & Pumpkin sale are service projects that are
coming up very soon! We ask anyone interested in signing up for CYO
to attend 7:00pm Mass with us at Holy Cross Church on Sunday,
September 23. Following Mass there will be an informational meeting
and refreshments, which will be over approx. 8:30pm. Please fill out
the enclosed registration form and bring it with the registration
fee to Mass. We hope to see you there!
Yours truly,
Michael Feerst, CYO
